Spanish In Peru
Peru borders Ecuador, Colombia, Brazil, Bolivia, Chile and the Pacific Ocean. The country has three distinct regions, a narrow coastal belt along the Pacific Ocean, the wide Andean mountains and the Amazon rainforest.
Although the coastal belt is a desert, that is where most of the population lives. Peru is renowned as the land of the Incas, but many great pre-Columbian civilizations flourished also before the Incas arrived and subdued or drove them away.
The most famous Inca ruins are found on Machu Picchu, however Peru offers an uncountable number of cultural and historic attractions, such as the Nazca Lines, the Floating Straw Islands of the Uros and Amantaní Island on Lake Titicaca as well as the Sacred Valley near Cusco. Peru is also an excellent destination for adventure and the outdoor lovers, as any kind of sports and activities such as hiking, trekking, camping, rafting, biking, etc. can be performed.
